We here at Top Gear Philippines have already done proper shakedowns of the market’s most popular midsize SUVs. We’ve also done comparos between multiple models. What we haven’t done yet, however, is compare the segment’s best-seller—the Toyota Fortuner—with its biggest competitors.
Well, that’s what we did in our last Big Test outing. Specifically, we took the top-spec Fortuner GR-S and pitted it against another top-of-the-line rival in the Ford Everest Titanium+.

Seeing as both of these are 4x4s, we made it a point to take these off-road. We went to Driftwoods Action Park in Indang, Cavite for this outing and put the SUVs to the test there. We did both off-road acceleration and braking tests this time around, and we also tested the vehicles’ ride and handling.
So, which midsize SUV do you think came out on top? You can just check out the full video above and see for yourself.
