We’re entering a new month with a bit good news: Fuel prices are going down this week, and though the adjustments are less than P1/L, it’s a welcome change to the consecutive price hikes in June and July.

For the period of July 30 to August 5, 2024, gasoline prices will go down by P0.75 per liter, after last week’s slight increase. Diesel prices, too, will continue to decrease by another P0.85 per liter. Finally, kerosene will have a price rollback of P0.80 per liter

Once these adjustments take effect, gasoline and diesel prices will have gone up by P9.60/L and P6.90/L, respectively, since the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, kerosene prices will have had a net decrease of P0.30/L since the start of the year.

If you want to save up on fuel costs, remember that fuel prices may vary depending on location and the brand of the fuel station; it might be cheaper somewhere along your regular route than near your place of residence or work. Is your car consuming more fuel than usual? Here’s one thing to check. While we’re at it, here are the signs your fuel injectors could be failing.
