As many of you know, Toyota doesn’t just make cars. Over the past several years, the Japanese brand has branched out heavily into other realms of mobility. Its latest pedestrian-oriented release is called the C+ Walk T, and it looks pretty promising.
From the get-go, the C+ Walk T (man, that name really just doesn’t roll off the tongue) is a stylish-looking thing. It comes in a simple black and white finish and features minimalist design cues all over. Since it runs on three wheels, it also looks like a much more stable device compared to some of the Segway models they resemble.

Speaking of its design, this product was built with convenience in mind. The flat base is just 150mm off the ground for easy boarding, and its relatively compact form factor allows it to travel side-by-side with pedestrians or other mobility devices.
And as you’ve probably guessed, this is an electric vehicle. It runs on a removable lithium-ion battery that provides 14km of range, and has five speed settings ranging from 2-6kph. It goes all the way up to 10kph for more advanced users as well.

And finally, there are different configurations available. There’s a seated model, as well as one that you can link to a wheelchair. Units also come equipped with puncture-proof tires and obstacle detection sensors to alert the driver of, well, obstacles.
Frankly, this looks very convenient. It’s unfortunate the Philippines doesn’t have the pedestrian infrastructure to support the use of such alternative mobility devices. Would you ride one of these things on a daily basis? Let us know in the comments.
