Your eyes do not deceive you. That Toyota above is, in fact, a Fortuner with the face of a Hilux. We’re big on creative renders here at Top Gear PH—you might have seen our Land Cruiser FJ40 already—so it’s a no-brainer to give this one a clip.
Okay, to be exact, what you’re looking at is the front end of the refreshed Hilux Conquest that has been fitted on the midsize SUV. We’ve got to admit... it actually kind of works. It reminds us of that Hilux with a Fortuner’s front fascia from Atoy Customs, only this one looks much better.
Apart from the front end, only the wheels see some changes. The overall shape has been retained, so it still undoubtedly looks like a Fortuner. If we were to make some changes to the design, we reckon the FJ Cruiser’s wheels might give it a more macho look.
We do wish someone would go ahead and turn this into reality, though, because this is merely a concept from artist Kleber Silva. You know, KDesign AG, the guy who made those wagon, hatch, and sedan 86 renders? And that Santa Cruz N, too, of course.
Anyway, we’ve no idea what to call this thing. Is it still right to call it a Fortuner, or would you rather give this one a new name? Your suggestions in the comments section, please.
