Sorry, guys—still no good news when it comes to fuel prices this month. We’re gonna have to give up a bit more of our 13th month pay to top up our vehicles.

For December 17 to 23, 2024, gasoline prices will once again go up by P0.80 per liter, which is double last week’s P0.40/L increase. This is already the fourth consecutive week of rising gasoline prices. Diesel prices, too, will increase by P0.80 per liter, negating the previous P0.50/L rollback. Finally, kerosene will have a price hike of P0.10 per liter.

Once these adjustments take effect, gasoline and diesel prices will have gone up by P12.55/L and P9.85/L, respectively, since the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, kerosene prices will have had a net decrease of P2.55/L since the start of the year.

If you want to save up on fuel costs, remember that fuel prices may vary depending on location and the brand of the fuel station; it might be cheaper somewhere along your regular route than near your place of residence or work. Is your car consuming more fuel than usual? Here’s one thing to check. While we’re at it, here are the signs your fuel injectors could be failing.
