It’s been a while since we saw a rollback for diesel—the last one was on July 8th, to be exact. But this week, we’ll finally have a decrease in price again.

From August 12 to 18, 2025, gasoline prices will go down slightly by P0.40 per liter, after last week’s P1.90/L increase. Diesel prices, too, will decrease by a more significant P1.50 per liter, after four consecutive weeks of price hikes. Finally, kerosene will have a rollback of P1.30 per liter.

Once these adjustments take effect, gasoline and diesel prices will have gone up by P10.80/L and P12.75/L, respectively, since the beginning of 2025. Meanwhile, kerosene will have had an overall increase of P2.65/L for the year thus far.

If you want to save up on fuel costs, remember that fuel prices may vary depending on location and the brand of the fuel station; it might be cheaper somewhere along your regular route than near your place of residence or work. Is your car consuming more fuel than usual? Here’s one thing to check. While we’re at it, here are the signs your fuel injectors could be failing.
